These days, the way that I sleep simply says, “I am happy to be single and spending five to seven hours sprawled out in the center of my bed alone.”

At other points, my tightly squeezed eyes and curled-up body would have screamed, “I know the baby will wake up/someone will start snoring/the alarm will begin blaring as soon as I finally, finally, finally get to sleep.”

Years and years ago, the corpse-looking college student still in her clothes would have mumbled something like, “Finals. Boys. Beer.”

Our lives, the amount of sleep we get, and how well we actually rest during those nighttime hours may change drastically over time. However, one sleep researcher says that our body position in bed could say something about who we are, not just what else is happening in our lives.

Professor Chris Idzikowski, director of the Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service, says that a study of 1,000 Brits revealed that the six most common sleeping positions are indicative of personality types.

If this sounds ridiculous (and honestly, I’d love to see information on this study and the analysis fleshed out further than any of the reports I could find), consider that Idzikowski says it comes down to body language.

“We are all aware of our body language when we are awake but this is the first time we have been able to see what our subconscious posture says about us,” Idzikowski said. “What’s interesting is that the profile behind the posture is often very different from what we would expect.”

The research also links certain sleeping positions with health risks. Some aid digestion while others spur on snoring and restlessness.

Here are the six common sleeping positions and correlated personality traits and health implications, according to this study.

[graphic via BBC.com]

Fetus position - A whopping 41% of participants sleep in this curled-up manner. Women are twice as likely to rest like this and it is listed as the most common position. These sleepers are said to have a tough exterior but are still sensitive and may appear to be shy but warm up quickly.

Log position - If you sleep on your side with both arms down, you are a social, easy-going person who is trusting, sometimes to the point of being gullible. The study showed 15% of people sleep like a log.

Yearner position - A close third is the side-lying position with both arms out in front of the body, with 13% of partipants sleeping like this. Yearners are noted to be open-minded and still cynical, suspicious, and stubborn about sticking to decisions once they are made.

Soldier position - These sleepers lie on their backs with arms down and kept close to the body. This 8% study is said to be reserved, quiet, without fuss, and hold themselves and others to a high standard. Soldier sleepers have a higher likelihood for snoring due to the flat-back position, which may not cause them to wake up often but may result in a less restful night’s sleep.

Freefall position - Those people who lie on their bellies with arms under or wrapped around a pillow with head turned to the side, make up 7% of the population studied. Freefallers are brash, outgoing, and are very uncomfortable with criticism.

Starfish position - Sleepers who lie on their backs with arms up near their head or the pillow account for 5% of participants. These people are good listeners, helpful, and are uncomfortable being the center of attention. People who sleep in starfish position are more likely to snore and to suffer from a poor night’s sleep more often.

If you think you are one of those people who move through all of these positions, that’s not likely to really be the case. Idzikowski said the research reveals most people stay in the same position all night and only 5% lay differently night by night. Also interesting is that the study showed only one in ten people cover their bodies entirely with a blanket, with most people exposing an arm, leg, or both feet.

Elephants are a huge part of popular culture and show up as metaphors across all media. They form a part of religious beliefs and are often associated with wisdom or altruism. However, many people who live outside the normal range of elephants are unfamiliar with the many interesting facts about them. This list gives an overview of ten interesting areas about elephants.

In English, when we say ‘elephant,’ we are actually referring to several different species. Until 2010, only 2 species of elephant were scientifically recognized. However, genetic testing has revealed that there are at least 3 species. These are the Asian elephant alphas maximus, the African bush elephant loxodonta Africana (also called the savannah elephant), and the African forest elephant loxodonta cyclones. The Asian elephant is the smallest, and has small ears and tusks. They have two prominent bumps on their foreheads. They hold their heads more erect than both African elephants, have no protruding upper lip, and have a single short finger-like lip at the end of their trunk which they use for fine manipulation of objects. Both African elephants have larger ears, although the forest elephant has much rounder ears, are less hairy, have larger tusks, rounded foreheads, and have two finger-like lips on their trunks. The forest elephant has relatively straight, downward-pointing tusks whilst the bush elephant has magnificently curved ones. Most elephants are crepuscular, meaning that they are most active during dawn and evening, although this varies due to local climate. Unfortunately, all elephant species are endangered.

Banpo bridges korea

Once installed, the bridge was turned into a major tourist attraction, when the bridge is firing 190 tons of water per minute using the river water below it.
2. Millau Viaduct (France): World’s Highest Bridge

As high as 1125 feet above the Tarn Valley in southern France, the Millau Viaduct wading can be said like a fly. The work of Foster & Partners is slightly higher than the Eiffel Tower, took three years to construct and opened in public in 2004. In addition to providing views of the valley below, when clouds form under the bridge, the Millau route for people who are not afraid of heights! Millau Bridge has a total length of 8071 feet with the longest single span of 1122 feet and maximum clarity under is 886 feet, so the bridge is very beautiful in miniature form or original form.

Facebook recently introduced a new feature which enables it’s users to switch to the HTTPS version of the site. And it’s about time they did so.

For those who do not know, the internet uses HTTP, or Hypertext Transfer Protocol, to load webpages when browsing. HTTPS is the same as above, with the extra S standing for “secure”. HTTPS is a combination of HTTP and SSL/TLS protocol to provide you with secure and encrypted data connections.

In layman’s language, switching to HTTPS is beneficial. Why?

Well, simply because HTTPS is more secure and protects you from attacks from tools like Firesheep, which can easily steal your private information otherwise. This could have a potentially disastrous domino effect on your privacy, which is obviously unwarranted. This protection is of great relevance when you browse on open or public Wi-Fi networks, which is usually where data theft of the afore mentioned kind take place.

So how do you switch to HTTPS?

Click on the account settings tab, under your account header on the top right hand corner. Under account security, click the change button, and check the box that says “Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible”. Click the save button, and you are good and safe to browse on Facebook henceforth!

But seriously, women and men have mighty different ideas when it comes to the bigger priorities on dressing up and impressing on a date.

Here are five things that every single guy will always notice on a date.

What guys always notice on a date #1 YOUR ASSETS

Is it your first date? It doesn’t matter though. A guy would have eye-grazed your boob or your super-sexy back at least a few times when you’re not looking. Every guy you’re dating would check you out at some point of time on the date.

What guys always notice on a date #2 SKIN

How much skin are you flashing? All guys would definitely notice this. But don’t be too certain that the equation of ‘more skin equals more attention’ always works.

Some guys would break into an uncomfortable sweat if you do a ‘Basic Instinct’!

What guys always notice on a date #3 YOUR CUTE HABITS

Do you have a cute way of smiling, or tucking your hair behind your ear? Or is it something else? Guys dig that! And if there’s one thing that a guy takes back as a memory from the date, it would be this one.

What guys always notice on a date #4 YOUR AURA

Are you in control of the situation? Can you handle it if you’re halfway through a date and both of you bump into a close friend of his? A guy loves it when she can laugh back at his friends and show that she’s ah… a ‘woman of substance’. He wants all his pals to know that you’re the hottest thing around, and he’d definitely fall promptly in love if he sees your positive aura, whatever may be the situation.

What guys always notice on a date #5 YOUR SMELL

He may not know too many of your exotic labels, but his nose can always recognize a good fragrance. A woman’s fragrance is intoxicating, and a man could go giddy while whispering near your ears.

So if you’re ever wondering how to impress a guy on a date, remember these five points on what guys always notice on a date, and we can assure you, he’ll fall right into love with you!

An equation is a mathematical statement that asserts the equality of two expressions. Equations consist of the expressions that have to be equal on opposite sides of an equal sign…
Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seek out patterns, formulate new conjectures, and establish truth by rigorous deduction from appropriately chosen axioms and definitions.

There is debate over whether mathematical objects such as numbers and points exist naturally or are human creations. The mathematician Benjamin Peirce called mathematics “the science that draws necessary conclusions”. Albert Einstein, on the other hand, stated that “as far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.”

Through the use of abstraction and logical reasoning, mathematics evolved from counting, calculation, measurement, and the systematic study of the shapes and motions of physical objects. Practical mathematics has been a human activity for as far back as written records exist. Rigorous arguments first appeared in Greek mathematics, most notably in Euclid’s Elements. Mathematics continued to develop, for example in China in 300 BC, in India in AD 100, and in the Muslim world in AD 800, until the Renaissance, when mathematical innovations interacting with new scientific discoveries led to a rapid increase in the rate of mathematical discovery that continues to the present day

There are different ways of back pain treatment depending on the causes. Back pain is caused by factors which are termed “referred pains” arising from some organs of the body or complications such as abdominal disorders like Pelvic infections, bladder disorders, Kidney diseases, appendicitis, Ovarian disorders , and aneurysms and orders. Skeletal causes of Low back pain include Osteomyolitis, and tumours.

Back pain treatments can be surgical, medicinal or home based treatments. Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side is also one of the ways of treating little back pain treatments. Non prescription drugs such as Ibuprofen, and Acetaminophen are effective in bringing relief to back pain problems. Ice, heat and topical agents such as deep heating rubs can also offer some effective relief for back pain problems. Other advanced back pain treatment methods involve the use of Opioid analgesics, Muscle relaxants, Oral steroids, Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications and COX-2 inhibitors.

Chronic back pain treatment can be done in two ways which are manual body treatments and the use of Pharmacologic treatments. Manual treatment of chronic back pain include the use of physical exertion and manipulation of affected areas through chiropractic adjustments, osteopathy, massage therapy or electro-therapy. Medical chronic back treatment include the use of effective treatment drugs such as analgesics, and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs) such as Naproxen and Aspirin.
